Trailer Deconstruction

This is the first thing the audiences see's in the film is this
screen, it demonstrates that this film trailer is suitable for all
ages. It is vital this is placed at the begining of the trailer
so that the audience can judge wether they want to watch
based on the rating as the content may not be appropriate
if it is rated any higher than the 'Appropriate for all audiences'
rating.

This shows the audience who has funded and made the film.
It is a good form of advertising and often assential when copyright
is a concern. The dark simple text also demonstrates the genre.
All film trailers will have these they credit the film company that funded
the film and it is of advertising becasue if an audience member goes away
from the film having enjoyed it they will then be more likely
to watch films in the future made by the same people.

This is one of the first shots of the trailer it sets the triler off
as quite fun and happy. The we wanted the first few seconds of
the film to be as happy as possible and not to be scary at all
we want the audience to have false sense of security to make it easier
to scare them later in the film and also to convay the characters and
the basic story line to the audience, since the charcters are
teenagers shooting a school documentary.

This next shot is a continuation of the happy part
of the trailer as it introduces the charcters to the
audience. This will help the audience create a
relationship with the characters and later in the film
will cause them to feel empathetic. The shot is a close
up of one of the charcters playing around camera. The
high angle displays a low status and hints at possible
bad out comes for the character in the shot and all the
characters in general.

This sinister style of presenting this next shot
really shows the audience the genre of the film and
this is the most important part that they remember, this
is the turning point, it is the point where the audience realise the
genre and the horror fans will keep watching.
This shot (a point of veiw shot) gives the audience an insight into
what the characters are feeling and to precisely what they are seeing.
This is the part of the trailer when things begin to change and the nature
of the genre starts to be shown.

This is a jump cut to a later moment in the film, this gives the
sense of being trapped and that anything could happen. This shot in a
dark hall with shadows everywhere making the place look very eire.
This is the volg done by the lead role (eva) this almost narates
the trailer and highlights the adolesent nievaty. The shot is a close
up on eva face this shot shows her role as the narrator and as the leader
of the group.

This Is the sudden jump cut to the sound of whimpering.
It is cut between eva reasuring the audience that there is
no ghost and dani in the toilets worrying about his arm and
complaining something cut him.
This is one of the most important titles this gives the
audience the information they need to go and see
the film an dbecuase it only says fabuary and no
specific date it leaves them to investigate more into it and get drawn
in even more.
It quickly jup cute back to shots of blood in the sink and
other ghostly goings on to emphsise that there
is no escape and that the film is a horror.

This is the diclaimer andit credits all who are envolved.
